this disease is so hard to cope with… both of my grandmothers have it, one is much more worse than the other. its devastating to watch, and to not be able to do anything about it is heartbreaking to myself and my family…

@0Mexicola0 it affects memory, eating habits, everything. it’s like seeing your grandpa age backwards and eventually becoming a baby again.

what song is in this video

THE 2ND MORE FEAR … BY NOW

I am sorry for you and your family. I am 31 and my father has late stage Alzheimer’s and Boxing Dementia I would love to talk to anyone who has or had a parent with this disease it is very hard to cope with my dad is at the stage where I have become the parent and I am really struggling with this reality.

does anyone know the name of the song used in this?

thanks

MDA Telethon:Why not start a Telethon for Alzheimer’s/ Dementia too?
MDA Telethon is great and I just made a pledge to the MDA Telethon.
I think what if someone started a Telethon for Alzheimer’s/ Dementia ?
How would someone start a Telethon for Alzheimer’s/ Dementia if they wanted to?

well my grandma has it too so basically the only thing you can do is to be patient even they tell you the same thing or stories all over again, there are some meds that send oxygen to the brain to “prevent” this horrible disease to move faster but i have to say that sadly those meds don’t do much, they even get depressed and say things that normally they wouldn’t say, it’s like becoming a kid

Give me advice please anyone that is living with a loved one with Alzeimer’s. My mother was recently diagnosed with Posterior cortical Atrophy, a rare type of alzeimer’s. She is 56 and has been suffering from it for 5 years (but we did not know). I am 20 years old. It is difficult but I would love to hear from people that are experiencing it, some sort of connection is great. Thank u

I’m sorry :(
my grandma has it too. She’s had it for 16 years now

my grandmother has alzheimers

who the hell do u think u are

Do you think you’re developing the “A” word? I believe I may know a cure to save you from it. I haven’t performed sufficient testing to confirm this statement, but with the testing I have done, there might be some hope. If you’re interested, please do not hesitate ask.

I am always saying, “Grandpa, do you know who I am?”

my grandfather has alzheimers

what does Alzhermes do to u? i though it only had with your memory to do.

WHATS UP I LIKE GREENDAY

Kodak – that is not weak at all to cry when someone dies. I did too because it reminded me of my father dying of Alzheimer’s disease – he too died with his mouth open like the man on the video – so that brought back memories, but I am glad I have memories unlike Alzheimer’s patients. This is a great project that HBO has done – I am so happy they are teaching people about this disease.

what happened to the song “Mad World”? did they not have the rights to post it on YouTube?

I just watched the Alzheimer’s project this evening on HBO. I was impressed and mesmerized. You see, I am a hospice chaplain and I see this daily in my work. You captured the essence of life with Alzheimers perfectly. You have my most sincere appreciation for this project.
